Father and son team, Ray and Ryan Davidson have returned to their roots in Des Plaines to purchase 12 year old Fair Muffler & Brake on Rand Road. Ray grew up in Des Plaines on Diamondhead Drive, graduating from Elk Grove High School in 1969, and upon graduating from SIU he moved to Batavia where Ryan was born. Ryan graduated from Wyoming Technical College with a degree in Gas and Diesel Engine Repair and has trained and worked as a repair technician for Land Rover for 10 years.

The name Fair Muffler & Brake is being transitioned into Davidson Automotive Technology Inc./Fair Auto Repair to reflect its new full automotive repair capabilities that a recent investment in state-of-the art technology and information systems will allow Davidson to now provide. Davidson specializes in Land Rover and SUV technology, and can provide both new car scheduled maintenance and extended warranty repairs! They also have on-site pipe fabricating, welding and machining capabilities to provide custom exhaust systems and engine rebuilding. Davidson promises to combine low labor rates with brand name parts and high quality service to guarantee competent, reliable and trusted auto repair at an affordable price.

Davidson Automotive Technology Inc. has joined the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce and Industry to become an active and supporting member of the Des Plaines community and local industry. Also, Ryan Davidson is an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America and is looking forward to becoming a resource and sponsor of local Boy Scout Troops and Cub Packs.
